Gordon Witkin is executive editor of the Center for Public Integrity, an award-winning nonprofit investigative journalism outlet based in Washington, DC. He runs all newsroom operations, including story conceptualization, line editing, partnerships and personnel management. He joined the Center in September 2008 following a short stint as social policy editor at Congressional Quarterly and a long career at U.S. News & World Report, the last five years as national affairs editor. Witkin’s work has been honored by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the American Bar Association, the National Press Club, Sigma Delta Chi, Scripps Howard, Columbia Journalism School and the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism. He is also a saxophone player in a working blues band, Nobody’s Business.
