Kyra Zemanick is a writer, editor, researcher, and videographer specializing in non-fiction storytelling.
Before joining Double Exposure, she worked as a social media producer at the World Wildlife Fund and a videographer at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, DC. Her videos and photos have been featured on the BBC, CNN, The Washington Post, TIME, USA TODAY, PBS, and Slate, among other local, national, and international media outlets.
She previously served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ås, Norway, where she was instrumental in designing a video-based academic writing course for non-native English speakers.
Kyra holds a master’s degree in global, international, and comparative history from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology from the College of William & Mary. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the 2013 Gilder Lehrman History Scholar Award for her achievements in the field of American history.
