Lisa Y Allen is the 2018 DX Festival Manager. She has more than five years experience running successful outreach campaigns for social impact documentary films and nonprofit organizations. She is committed to authentic storytelling and social equity.
She was director of outreach for City of Trees (America ReFramed/ WORLD Channel), the award-winning feature-length documentary by DC-based production company Meridian Hill Pictures. Lisa continues to collaborate with documentary filmmakers as an impact producer and outreach manager, including on No Place to Grow and RETURN.
Previously, she lived in Kyoto, Japan where she was editorial assistant and head of outreach at Kyoto Journal, an independent, quarterly magazine presenting insights from Asia.
Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in communication/ media studies and art history from Wake Forest University.
